Message If the pivot ball were shot, the arm would have slop in it but there isn't.. I dont know what the exact problem is, but I'm 99% sure it is the clutch itself (PP or disc).. The pedal offers resistance just like it always did, but on some of those occasions it was really really stiff. I suspect a spring went to pieces, slung into the pressureplate and is binding between the pressureplate and the pressureplate housing and making the pedal very very stiff at the end of its stroke - and intermittently at that. I drove it for about 3 miles after it screwed up until I got to my office and sometimes it felt just like it normally did, and some times it was very very stiff. I'm pretty sure a spring or two came apart and those pieces are floating aroudn in the pressure plate. I also noticed that the engine felt a little out of balance when I revved it to around 4K...
